Woolworths Vision Zero Grower Day at Allée Bleue
Halogen Greens joined growers, researchers and biological-input specialists at Allée Bleue for the Woolworths Vision Zero Grower Day, sharing how our soil-first nutrition and Magtasium foliar support a lower-residue, biology-led future.

On 21 May 2026, the Halogen Greens team travelled to Allée Bleue Wine Estate in Franschhoek for the Woolworths Vision Zero Grower Day. The gathering brought growers, researchers and biological-input specialists together to look at practical ways of reducing chemical reliance in commercial horticulture, with a strong focus on integrated pest management, biological crop protection, regenerative agriculture and precision application across vegetables and protected cultivation.
For us, the day was an opportunity to stand alongside an industry that is actively moving toward lower-residue, biology-led production, and to share where Halogen Greens fits into that picture. Our conversations centred on soil health and plant nutrition as the foundation of any meaningful Vision Zero strategy. When a crop is properly fed and the soil biology is alive and balanced, the plant is naturally more resilient, pest and disease pressure drops, and reliance on conventional chemistries follows. That is the conviction we brought into every conversation at our stand.
We spent the day with growers walking through what our range offers in real production settings. Magtasium, our magnesium and calcium foliar, was a focal point: a clean, plant-available input that supports photosynthesis, cell strength and fruit quality without adding to the residue load. We talked through leaf comparison work, trial feedback from local farms, and how Magtasium slots into a programme alongside biological controls rather than competing with them. Several growers were keen to discuss tank-mix compatibility with the biologicals being showcased elsewhere on the day, and we were able to give them practical, on-farm answers.
Beyond Magtasium, we shared how our broader nutrition philosophy supports the goals Woolworths set out for the day. Healthier soil means stronger root systems, better water use and a longer window for biological control agents to do their work. That is exactly the kind of compounding benefit Vision Zero and Farming for the Future are built on, and it is where a nutrition partner like Halogen Greens can quietly carry a lot of the load.
We left Allée Bleue encouraged. The level of engagement from growers, the openness of the research community and the willingness of suppliers to work together all point in the same direction. We are blessed to walk this road alongside farmers and partners who share the vision of producing food that is good for people, good for the land and built to last.
